The brick and mortar store will be located in Bastrop, Texas and will also serve as the fulfillment facility for online sales. "The hobby industry is a niche business with very few online competitors," stated Brent Golemon, President of KGB Consultants. "Many of the products that are offered are made in the United States and the devalued dollar makes them an attractive export, especially to companies in Europe and East Asia."

KGB Consultants has played and integral role in the planning and implementation phases of the process. The company has assisted with securing the necessary inventory loans, preparing the business plan, securing the dealership arrangements, overseeing the leasing of and build out of the store and implementing the online retail store.

"Online sales will be the lifeblood of Big Dog Hobbies and instrumental in becoming competitive is the ability to sell on Amazon and Ebay. Ultimately, Big Dog's website will be the primary focus for online retail distribution but you have to build the necessary brand name recognition," said Golemon.

The online store has been operating for several months and is already shipping between 20 to 60 packages a day. The company's business plan anticipates a robust holiday season despite the downturn in the economy. "Our clientele are primarily avid RCers (remote control)", said Golemon; "these are folks who are not apt to give up their love of planes, trains or heli's. They would eat out less often to keep flying and driving."
